From Laser-mouse firmware to C#, and everything in between.
Given the number of years involved, the specific language, OS or protocol rarely matters. Here's an honest inventory of what's been touched directly — not as a remote user.
From hands-on software designer to group leader.
Alongside Dolphin Engineering, this is the leadership path built inside ASML's Yieldstar organisation since 2021.

Engineering Manager / Group Leader Waferflow Software (Yieldstar / HMI)CURRENT
Leading the Waferflow group which is split over 2 products: Yieldstar and HMI. This makes it a bit more complex than in the average group, but also means: 'never a dull moment'.
-
Group Team Lead XYZ & Source SW
Led a group of around 30 people with mainly a software background, joined by a twist of physics from H1 2024 onward — plus a healthy mix of interns. Built the group by tailoring knowledge build-up, staying hands-on through volunteering, and being deliberate about where the group's energy needed to go. Used internships to grow both student and mentor, while producing tooling and proofs-of-concept for the wider group.
-
a.i. Group Lead, ASML Yieldstar Optical Column Sensing Software & Group Team Lead XYZ & Source SW
Trusted as ad interim Group Lead with full scope for Yieldstar Optical Column Software (~50 people across fixed, flex and interns), on top of the existing Group Team Lead role — a busier stretch, but on familiar ground with a group that was already well known.
-
Software/Physics/Industrial Engineering Teamlead & Scrum Master (2 teams) in SAFe
Teamlead and scrum master for two multi-competency teams of physicists, software developers and industrial engineers (13 and 16 people across 14 nationalities by April '23), operating in SAFe. Introduced agile ways of working to physicists and industrial engineers who hadn't used them before, then merged single-competency teams into the mixed setup — a bumpy first PI, but goals were met within a few percent, and the combined competencies ended up worth more than the sum of their parts.

Software Design Engineer
Worked within the Yieldstar Machine Control Software — Sensing group. Developed C# software for system-setup calibrations, performance measurement, diagnostics and internal tooling. Stack: C#/.NET, Agile, Jira, Git.
Main programming languages used since 1999.
More have been used since April 1999 — these are the main ones. If your language of choice isn't listed, Dolphin Engineering will get up to the requested level without billing the ramp-up in full.
Comfortable with an OS — or with none at all.
Embedded Linux
Denx ELDK, kernel-tailoring, rootfs creation, driver incorporation and deployment.
Linux & Solaris
General-purpose Unix-family systems across server and desktop targets.
VxWorks, OS9000, OS9, pSOS
Classic real-time operating systems used across industrial and consumer platforms.
Microsoft Windows
All major Windows platforms.
No OS at all
Just as comfortable on non-OS-running systems — e.g. factory diagnostic software for DVD videorecorders, and software written directly on microcontrollers.
Sources written close to the protocol's heart.
Not as a remote user of a library — these are protocols that have been implemented, extended or modified to spec, including the willingness to read lengthy specifications to get there.
A non-exhaustive tour of the boards that ran the code.
Agile where it helps, structured where it must.
What actually gets things done.
When you want to climb the mountain or reach the north pole, you need skilled, motivated people who understand what makes you tick and are willing to walk the extra mile. The same applies to staffing a project on time and within budget — including multi-site, global setups.
Worked with teams across three continents.
A route trace, not a map pin — these are teams and companies Dolphin Engineering has worked with directly. A complete list lives on the LinkedIn profile.
